First phase of Aydın-Denizli Motorway commissioned

The Kuyucak-Denizli Kocabaş section of the 140-kilometer Aydın-Denizli Motorway, starting from Aydın Ring Road Motorway Separation Junction to Yenipazar via Dalama and extending south of the Büyük Menderes River to Denizli Kocabaş, was opened to traffic.

Drivers will be able to enter and exit the highway from Kuyucak, Buharkent, Sarayköy, Kumkısık, Pamukkale and Kocabaş on the 80-kilometer stage. Pedestrians, animals, non-motorized vehicles, rubber-tired tractors, construction equipment and bicycles are prohibited from entering this section, which was opened to traffic as an "access-controlled highway". The mandatory minimum speed on the highway has been set at 40 kilometers/hour and the maximum speed at 140 kilometers/hour.

With the completion of the Aydın Denizli Motorway between Kuyucak and Aydın, the transportation time between the two cities is expected to be reduced from approximately 2 hours to approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Consisting of 140 kilometers of main road and 23 kilometers of connection roads, the highway will include 19 viaducts, 100 bridges, 19 interchanges, 74 underpasses and 5 highway service facilities.

The Kuyucak-Aydın stage, where work is ongoing, is planned to be completed in 2024.

Drivers started to use it

Drivers started to use the highway on the Kuyucak-Denizli section, which was opened to traffic.

Evren Kaya, who came from Denizli, stated that they hesitated between using the road or not and said, "But we still entered the highway. It is beautiful, health to everyone's hands."

Mustafa Turhan said, "I used it for the first time. I'm going from Denizli to Aydın. It's very nice. I hope the other sections will be opened. We will not be in Nazilli-Aydın traffic."

Ayhan Bircan stated that he was traveling from Denizli to Izmir and said, "There is nothing to say about the road. It is a great thing. Can the service be bad? We are very pleased. We will use it all the time."
